It looks like most festivals are returning, aside from those that were killed off by the lockdowns of the past 2 years. That took a heavy toll on their finances. I am checking with them day by day, if you have an update for an, please tell me via the Feedback form.

All the strawberry festivals in Italy we can find are listed on this page! If you love strawberries, look for a festival near you below! And I'm always looking for more strawberry festivals! Please write me, if you know of any to add!  I update the dates as soon as the festivals publish their information, but you can always click on the links (usually the name of the festival) to see the current information on the festival's own website.

Italy 2022 Strawberry Festivals - Where, When and More Details!

There are two general types of strawberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Strawberry festival held at and by a farm

They are different in what they offer, so they are grouped separately. (of course not all areas have both. And following the festival listings are links to our easy to follow directions about making strawberry jam, freezing strawberries, strawberry pies and much more. 

Community Strawberry Festivals (Sagra Delle Fragola)

  • Cassibile Sagra Delle Fragola  -  from 10 to 12 May 2019
    Siracusa, Sicily. A 4 day long event with tasty strawberry treats like strawberry pie located between Avola and Siracusa.
  • Manciano Sagra della Fragola - held on the last Sunday in May
    Marsiliana, Grosseto, Tuscany.
  • Nemi Strawberry Festival - 2 June 2019
    Nemi, Latium (near Rome, Italy). Featuring straberry ice cream, jams, syrups, and various pastries and baked goods. The festival starts at 10.00. They hand out free strawberries at 19.00. The festival ends with a fireworks display at 23.00. This page has a good English description and photos of the Nemi Strawberry festival.
  • Policoro - a 2-day festival in mid-May
    Matera, Basilicata. Features a local variety of strabwerry called the Candonga. Strawberries are a big part of the local economy, and the town is much like Plant City, Florida; as both are known as 'Strawberry City'
  • Sagra Delle Fragola di Maletto - (Friday June 15th to Sunday June 17th, 2019) - 2019: VENERDI 15 GIUGNO, SABATO 16 GIUGNO, DOMENICA 17 GIUGNO
    Maletto, Catania, Sicily, Italy. Phone: 095-7720616. Email: [email protected]. Foods (focusing on strawberries, obviously) live music and various activities.
  • San Biagio della Valle - 2 weeks long from mid May into early June
    Perugia, Umbria. There is also a cherry festival nearby in San Valentino della Collina in mid May.
  • Santo Stefano - mid June
    Ravenna, Emilia Romagna. Strawberries are the focus, but there are also many other foods.
  • Scorzè Sagra Delle Fragola  - mid May
    Venice, Veneto, Italy. Celebrating both asparagus and strawberries.
  • Terricciola Sagra Delle Fragola - May
    Giardino Comunale, Via Roma, Terricciola 56030. Near Pisa, Tuscany. The Strawberry Festival is in the still raw heart of the Tuscan countryside, for thirty-seven years, the ancient village of Terricciola, Città del Vino, halfway between Pisa, Livorno, Siena and Florence, celebrates strawberry and peasant culture with its most famous festival: typical cuisine , musical concerts, tastings, exhibitions and exhibitions to stay healthy and have fun.We look forward to seeing you 4-5 and 11-12 May 2019!
