Peach Festivals in Canada in 2024: Where, When and More to Find a Peach Festival Near You!

Peaches typically ripen from May (in northern Florida and Texas) through June, July and August in the mid-Atlantic, Midwest and New England. July dominates as the month for peach production (and festivals) Unlike strawberries, which grow almost anywhere, peaches are grown commercially in half as many states.

There are two general types of peach festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Peach festival held at and by a farm. They are different in what they offer, and community festivals tend to be less expensive so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both.)

Community Peach Festivals

British Columbia

• Penticton Peach Festival - 5 days in early August each year (Wednesday through Sunday)

PEACHFEST is an annual, South Okanagan Valley tradition, which first began in 1947, to celebrate the peach harvest in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. 2008 is the 61st annual Peachfest, and you are invited to share the fun and festivities with us. This five day extravaganza features fantastic live entertainment often including, but not limited to, bands, solo/duo acts, dancers, martial arts demonstrations, hypnotist shows, a wide variety of food & merchandise vendors, arts and crafts exhibits, two parades, various competitions, and even a Square Dance Festival.  Penticton Peach Festival is an annual South Okanagan Valley tradition, which began in 1947, to celebrate the peach harvest in Penticton,  In 2022, on Wednesday the SkyHawks parachute team touched down in Penticton to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Peach Fest.On Saturday, the Peach Festival Grand Parade boasts to being one of the largest parades in British Columbia, to be held on Penticton's Main Street and Lakeshore Drive. Sunday features Kiddies Day in Okanagan Lake Park. To start Kiddies Day, witness the enthusiasm of the children in their own Kiddies Parade, starting at 11am, down Main Street, and then return back to Okanagan Lake Park, where between 12pm & 4pm, the young ones are treated to a variety of events and entertainers, specially geared for their enjoyment.
