Corn: Around late August. If weather allows. Tomatoes: August, if crop does
not get the blight. We lost both corn and tomatoes last year, due to weather
problems. Payment: Cash, only. This Blueberry Farm, is also the Art studio
of Counselor Counselet. It is open during blueberry season and everyone is
welcome to enjoy paintings on the wall. Children are welcome. Everything is
provided. We try to keep bug spray on hand, for those who forget. No Smoking
is permitted on the property. Tobacco smoke is bad for plants, as well as
your fellow pickers. Outhouse, first aid station, filtered water also
available. Blueberries are fully birdnetted, making easy and fast picking.
We have over 850 high bush blueberries. Six varieties. Parking excellent

from the Rochester area, give yourself about an hour. Take route 390 north
to the Lake Ontario State Parkway, and drive west until the parkway ends.
Turn right (west) on Route 18 and continue for about 20 miles, half a mile
beyond the power plant. Look for a sign on your right that says “Russell’s
U-Pick Blueberries.” We have a ten acre patch of berries on Lake Ontario in
Niagara County, near the Somerset power plant. Blueberry season runs from
mid-July to early September.

click here. We currently have 6 varieties of organically grown highbush
blueberries; Blueray, Bluecrop, Elliott, Patriot, Burkley, and Bluetta. The
picking season usually starts about July 4th, with Bluetta and Patriot being
the first to ripen. The picking season peaks about July 25th when all
varieties are available and extends to about August 10th with the later
varieties. We currently have several varieties of both light and dark sweet
cherries including Bing, Emperor Francis, Hedelfingen, Hudson, Napoleon and,
Schmidt. Our U-Pick sweet cherry season starts in early July and tart
cherries usually start to ripen in mid-July. Cherry harvest is almost always
completed by August 1st, when the peach season starts.
