Remember to ALWAYS either email, call or click the link to the farm's own website (if they have one) on the morning before you go, to confirm hours, conditions and availability of the specific crops you want!

Calhoun County

  • Myb Farm And Campground - follows organic methods, corn (sweet), herbs/spices, other vegetables, picnic area

Directions: from Grantsville, WV route 5 west approximately 5 miles to Big Root road make right, to Norman Ridge Road, left to top of hill 1st left dirt road to MYB Farm and campground on left. Open: farm -  Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm; campground - all year 7am till ??. garlic from June 20 till September, corn from mid July till September. We follow organic methods, but are not yet certified. Payment: Cash, only. we also have a campground and sell garlic, corn and home made jams and jelly from locally picked berries (blackberry and raspberry).

Greenbrier County

  • Sunshine Farm & Gardens - dig-your-own plants, cut your own flowers, farm market, gift shop, picnic area, school tours, events at your location (call for info)
    Upper Spring Creek Road, Renick, WV 24966. Phone: 304-497-2208. Email: barry@sunfarm.com. Directions: Click here for a map and directions. Directions from the junction of US 219 and I-64 at the Lewisburg WV Exit: go north on US 219 12.9 miles. Turn left at Friars Hill Road. Go 3.4 miles to a four way intersection. Cross the intersection and a bridge and you will be on Leonard Cordova Road. Climb the first mountain. Do not make a turn at the top of the mountain; go straight. You will come down into a valley with beaver dams. Climb the second mountain. At the top of the mountain bear right. Do not make the hard left. At the bottom of that mountain you will pass a little white church and cross a bridge then the road stops. Make a left and come 6/10ths of a mile. There is a road on the right. Climb that road past the log cabin and past the driveway that leads to the house on the hill. Keep going, the road ends at Sunshine.  Picking updates: Click here for picking updates. Open: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am to noon and 4pm to 8pm; Saturdays from 8am to 5pm; Closed Sundays and Wednesdays. Directions: From Interstate-64 take the Lewisburg exit (#169) and go north on Route 219 approximately 15 miles to the town of Renick. Turn right on Brownstown Road (just north of the Renick Post Office). We are 1.5 miles out on the right. Blueberries: Last Saturday in June through August Red Raspberries: August through October. Hampshire County

We primarily sell our farm products at the Romney Farmer's Market in Romney, WV on Saturday mornings, 9 am to 12 Noon. We are generally picking for the market all day on Fridays in season. Customers may also come to the farm for picked preorders on Fridays. In times of abundance and surplus, we also allow PYO customers to come to the farm on Fridays.

Jackson County

    John Deere Road, Cottageville, WV 25239. Phone: 304-372-6993. Directions: I-77 Ripley exit 138, South on Route 62 approximately 8 miles and follow signs to the farm. Crops are usually available in May, June. Open: Monday to Sunday, 7 am to 7 pm; Opening date to be announced at a later time. Payment: Cash, Check. Containers will be supplied at no extra charge. Also available at Ripley Farmers Market on Saturdays and available at Capitol Market in Charleston. Family owned and operated.
  • Herot Hall Farm - blueberries, picnic area, birthday parties, weddings and wedding parties

Turn left at next intersection. Go to top of hill, and turn R following South 34. Go 1.5 miles to the farm on left. You are there!. June 14 to July. Payment: Cash, only. This is our first year open to the public. Next year (2010) we will have more blueberries and raspberries. (ADDED: June 15, 2009)

Jefferson County

  • Ridgefield Farm and Orchard - pyo Apples, pumpkins, hayrides, Christmas trees
    414 Kidwiler Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. Phone: 304-876-3647. Email: Info@ridgefieldfarm.com.  Directions: Take Route 230 to Kidwiler Road. Open: Early July - December 22nd; Daily, 10-6. After October, Daily 10-5. Pick Your Own runs daily from mid-August until mid October. Nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge near historic Harpers Ferry, WV, Ridgefield Farm and Orchard is aptly named. The ridge dominates the landscape, and the fields abound with apples, pumpkins, and Christmas trees. Ridgefield Farm has been a family farm since the 1890's. It is currently owned by Alan Gibson and Scott Beard, and features three thousand apple trees, acres of pumpkins, and 10 thousand Christmas trees so that people can enjoy the bounty of the crops and participate in the harvest experience. It also has a flower cutting garden during the summer and early fall. Apples: 16 varieties including unusual varieties Nittany, Cameo, Honey Crisp, Virginia Gold and Yataka. Also Pink Lady, Ginger Gold, Gala, Cortland, Jonagold, Red Delicious, Empire, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Stayman and Fuji.
  • York Hill Orchard & Farm - Pick-your-own apples and pumpkins, Hay rides, corn maze, straw maze
    Ridge Road/Route 16, Shenandoah Junction, WV. Phone: 304-876-6477.  Hay rides, corn maze, straw maze, straw jumping pit, animals, demonstrations, nature trail, living history, chain saw carving, food, and more. Open: Saturdays and Sundays, 10 am to 6 p.m. (through 11/3). Admission is $5; children under 2 FREE. Scarecrow making on weekends (2-4 pm), $25. Primitive camp sites, $15. School tours, birthday parties, clubs by appointment. Only an hour from the DC metro area.

Lewis County

  • La Paix Herb Farm - ORGANIC, herbs, gift shop
    3052 Crooked Run Road, Alum Bridge, WV 26321. Phone: (304)269-7681. Email us at: lapaix@westvirginia.net. Directions: North Central West Virginia. Exit 99 off I79 to Weston. Drive through Weston to Route 33 West, go approximately 15 miles to Crooked Run Road on left. Turn left at Crooked Run, go about 2-1/2 miles to first left, turn and continue about 1 mile - signs announce La Paix Herb Farm. Open: Please call to arrange or email for reservation. Lavender: mid September (call first) Culinary herbs: chives, garlic chives, thyme, lemon thyme, lemon balm, fennel, Egyptian mint, peppermint, pineapple mint, purple perilla (shisho). - August, September (call first) Payment: Cash, Check, Visa/MasterCard, Discover. All crops grown organically. 5th Annual Lavender Fair 2007 is scheduled for Saturday, June 30th, 2007. Workshops and Tours by appointment only.

Mercer County

Directions: Byrnside Branch Farm is located 20 miles south of Lewisburg in Route 219 toward Union. From Union, go 1 mile on Willow Bend Road. The farm is on the Left. Please watch for signs! Crops are usually available in September, October, November. Open: Friday 4pm-10pm, Saturday 9 am to 10pm, Sunday 1pm-10pm Corn Maze is opened September 14th up until First weekend in November! Lots of produce offered through out all seasons. Payment: Cash, Check.

Turn left if coming from Charleston, right if you are coming from Huntington onto Route 34. Drive 1.5 miles until you see CVS & Appalachian Tire on your left. Teays Lane is between those two businesses. Turn left onto Teays Lane and follow the road approximately 1/2 a mile to the railroad crossing. Cross the tracks turning right. Little Patch on the Lane will be immediately to the left. Click here for a map and directions. Picking will begin in late July of 2009 to and will last until the vegetables are gone; Please call ahead for availability of the vegetable of your choice as we are a small farm; I like to use the term "Farmette"; Pumpkins will be available mid September.
