Remember to ALWAYS either email, call or click the link to the farm's own website (if they have one) on the morning before you go, to confirm hours, conditions and availability of the specific crops you want!

They have orders coming in each week now, so contact them so they can put you on the list. Also be prepared to tell them your color and ripeness preference. They will have "some" blackberries soon too. A grocery bag holds about 5lbs ($ 5). You won't want to overfill it or the weight will smash the plums. it is basically an honor system, in that you can just tell us how many bags you picked when you are done.

They have goats, and a butterfly garden too. 2005 prices were $9.00 per 6 lbs (that's about a gallon) to pick your own and $11.00 per pound to buy already picked. He said he puts a little round up under the trees to keep the grasses back, but he does not spray the bushes.

Our berries are easy to pick; in nice long rows. there is a cool creek nearby to stick your feet in (everyone seems to love it).  The berries are plentiful, large and so sweet, people tell us they don't need to add sugar when making blackberry jelly!   (UPDATED: July 22, 2008)

Normally open for berry sales June 1, through July. A call in advance is recommended to check the availability of ripe berries. Ripening of berries is a variable contingent on the weather. Directions to the farm: I-35 to Exit 143, Covell Road; turn east 1 one half miles to the second stop sign at Midwest Boulevard; turn north 1 three quarters of a miles to Midwest Lane; turn east and the farm is on the north. Some times they have a pick you own area, but most of it comes right out of the field on the harvester truck(you actually watch the truck come out of the field) and can ask what days each field is to be harvested so that you can get the field that you think looks best. The owners are always right there on location and will not let you take corn that they beleive might be of poor quality. This is the best corn and I usually get 2 50 pound bags a year.
