It looks like most festivals are returning, aside from those that were killed off by the lockdowns of the past 2 years. That took a heavy toll on their finances. I am checking with them day by day, if you have an update for an, please tell me via the Feedback form.

There are two general types of strawberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Strawberry festival held at and by a farm

They are different in what they offer, so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both. And following the festival listings are links to our easy to follow directions about making strawberry jam, freezing strawberries, strawberry pies and much more. 

Community Strawberry Festivals

  • Brandywine / Rouse Chamberlain Homes Strawberry Festival - Thursday to Sunday, USUALLY Memorial Day weekend OR THE NEXT WEEKEND, (check their website for this year's dates) Thursday, May 30 to Sunday typically in early June
    Brandywine Hospital, near Coatesville, PA. Click here for Directions. Join us for the Strawberry Festival, presented by Rouse/Chamberlin Homes and benefiting the Brandywine Health & Wellness Foundation on Thursday to Sunday, early June - RAIN OR SHINE. Festivities open with Wrist Band Day on Thursday when attendees have unlimited use of all rides from 5 pm until 10 pm for the price of $20.00 per person.
  • Cheswick Strawberry Festival - First Sunday in June, from 3 pm to 7 pm  UPDATE for 2023, Hasn't been held the past 2 years and there is no update for 2022 on their website about it, as of May 2022 - call them, email them or keep checking their website
    Rachel Carson Park, Cheswick, PA. Directions: Click here for a map and directions. Cheswick Recreation Board will hold its annual Strawberry Festival . With fresh strawberries, raffles, and music, the festival is geared toward family fun and giving neighbors an opportunity to visit. the famous Strawberry shortcake will be available again. Vendors are welcome and spaces will be assigned. There is a $15 vendor fee and vendors need to bring their own tables, chairs and canopies or tents. Set up time is after 1:30 pm.   • Frey Village, Middletow Annual Strawberry Festival - Friday in early June from 8:30 AM to 1 pm. UPDATE for 2023, There is nothing on their website about it, as of early May 2022 - call them, email them or keep checking their website
    Diakon Senior Living Frey Village, 1020 N Union St, Middletown, Pennsylvania 17057. Phone: (717) 930-1228. Email: klinep@diakon.org. Many FREE and fun family events and strawberries: Dipped berries, quarts of berries, strawberry shortcake, strawberries and ice cream, strawberry lemonade, etc. Frey will also have Strawberry giveaways per hour, 50/50, raffle items, silent auction, homemade candy, baked goods, book sale, jewelry sale, and vendors. New to the festival this year are the Susquehanna Service Dogs, Middletown Fire Department community outreach and equipment demonstration, and the Central PA Car Shows with a Cars and Coffee Event featuring classic cars of all kinds- muscle cars, sports cars and trucks. Food will be available for purchase from Up N Smoke and Dogongooddog food trucks from 10 am to 1 pm. Live music with Frey's band: Sticks, Strings, & Heavenly Things will be playing from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Our Courtyard will be brimming with family friendly activities for the children: Water balloon slingshots, kid friendly tattoo parlor, Balloon animals from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, and dogs to hug. Come and join in the fun!
  • Lemont Village Association Annual Strawberry Festival - Saturday early June, from 3 pm to 7 pm
    Village Green, 133 Mt. Nittany Road and Harris Alley, Lemont. PA 16851. Phone: (814) 238-1288. Email: sue@lemontvillage.org. Over 37 years, on the Lemont Village Green, 133 Mt. Nittany Road, Lemont, PA 16851. BUT, it will only happen if neighbors sign up for the many small jobs that make it happen. Sign up at the Lemont P.O. after May 20th, or on Sign Up Genius to be announced soon. Many hands make fun for all.The day will include strawberries, homemade cakes, Meyer Dairy Ice Cream, Lemonade, strawberry milkshakes made with a bicycle powered (human) blender (we hope!) pony rides, and art projects for children provided by Art Alliance artist volunteers. There will be Music by Molly Countermine, Rene Witzke, & Ken Baxter from 3 pm to 5 pm and another band, TBA, from 5 pm to 7 pm. There might even be Speeder Rides by the Bellefonte Historic Railroad volunteers. Bring chairs or blankets, and $6/adults and $3 for 5 to 15 year olds. This all depends on folks volunteering to scoop ice cream, make cakes, serve ice cream, collect money, direct traffic, walk ponies,set up, clean up - lots of one time jobs - something for everyone!
  • Milford United Methodist Church Strawberry Festival and Flea Market - annual, Saturday in June; Saturday typically in early June, from 10 am to 6 pm (check their website for this year's dates)

Come out for breakfast sandwiches, coffee tea, and bagels and stay for our lunch grill, offering Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Lemonade, Iced tea, and bottled water for all! There will be a tented dining area with music for your comfort and enjoyment. When was the last time you were out with your family for a fun filled free day for all. We will have more than 50 flea market and craft vendors on site offering Antiques, Crafts, Jewelry and MORE. There will be crafts for the kids as well as crafts for them to make for Fathers day, games, face-painting a dunk tank and much more, so much fun to keep them busy for hours. Come and enjoy one of our Famous Strawberry Shortcakes and visit our Granny's attic for the finest hand made items as well as our bake table. It's going to be an awesome day.  This year we are having Food Trucks along with our regular vendors, and increasing the hours of the event. Join us on  as we enjoy the summer sunshine, food, vendors, and of course, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE.
  • Mount Nebo Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival - UPDATE for 2022 and 2023, There is nothing on their website or Facebook page about it, as of early May 2023 - call them, email them or keep checking their website, I've reached out to them via their contact form but had no reply

We also have ham barbeques, hot dogs, and various side dishes. We have a flea market inside the church, which benefits our youth group's mission trip. We also have a car cruise for all to enjoy!   • Pittsburgh Shadyside Presbyterian Church - June from 5:30 pm to 8 pm; Friday typically in early June

The 27th Shadyside Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival will be held at Shadyside Presbyterian Church. This is a traditional evening of fun, games, and delicious food to celebrate the impending arrival of summer and support one of our mission partners, Sojourner House. Pre-order your meal tickets, dessert tickets, and/or children's game packages here. Pre-sales will close on Sunday, May 29. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with payment instructions during the next available business hours. All pre-purchased tickets will be available at the Will Call table starting at 5:30 pm on Friday, June 3. With something for everyone, the Strawberry Festival offers a perfect evening of fun. Menu items will include ice cream, strawberry shortcake, grilled hot dogs, chips, salad, beverages, and other tasty snacks. Baked goods also will be available for purchase (cash only). Children's activities will include games on the McClintock Lawn and balloon sculptures by Weird Eric.  All proceeds from the festival's activities will benefit Sojourner House, an East End residential rehabilitation facility for women and their children.
  • Quakertown First United Church of Christ Strawberry Festival and Lawn Fete - a Saturday in June from 4:30-8:30 pm (See their website for this year's date)

Our story and fascination with the scrumptious red berry began in 1954. Together with surrounding churches, a community charity event was held on the Quakertown Hospital (now St. Lukes's) grounds to support the operations and treatments offered at the hospital. The event, then just called a Lawn Fete, featured food, games and music. Today, we continue this favorite Quakertown event with Live Music, Outdoor Lawn Games, Summer Eats & Treats, similar to our Lawn Fete beginnings. We've also expanded the family fun to include our Silent Auction, Surprise Character Appearances, Whipped Cream Pie Throw and Pie Eating Contest! So don't miss out and remember to dress in your best strawberry attire!

  • Wallingford Presbyterian Church Strawberry Festival - Early June each year, from 5 pm to 8 PM

  • Warrior Run-Fort Freeland Heritage Society Annual Strawberry Festival - June, one day, from 11 am to 4 pm  (June 12, 2022)

Lots of Things To See and Do: Family Event featuring homemade food and ice cream, Strawberry Desserts made from local berries, Hamburgers, Hotdogs and our legendary Ham Barbecue, Musical Entertainment, Exhibit of Antique Cars (by Chapters of the AACA). NOTE: Proceeds from this event help pay for restoration of the Historic Warrior Run Church and the Hower-Slote House.

Farm Strawberry Festivals and Privately Run Festivals

In addition to community and church festivals, some private farms have their own strawberry festivals in June.  See each farm for this year's dates (they often do not announce them until the end of May).   • Paulus Orchards Strawberry Festival - Saturday in mid-June from 7 am, Pancake Breakfast (served until 10:30am)

  • Pennsylvania General Store Strawberry Festival - Saturday typically in early JUNE from 10 AM to 4 PM

    2573 Brandt School Road, Wexford, PA 15090. Email: amysoergel@gmail.com. Western Pennsylvania. This farm has it's own Strawberry Festival and Pick-Your-Own Strawberries! Join us for a day of festival fun- featuring hot dogs, meatball hoagies, fresh lemonade, numerous strawberry desserts, hay rides to the strawberry patch where you can pick your own strawberries, and take a pony ride from 1-3:00!  Also on June 10th, we will have a sheep shearing demonstration at noon, where you can watch us harvest wool from the sheep in the petting zoo.
  • Trax Farm Strawberry Festival - the second weekend in June, every year

Directions: 12 miles south of Pittsburgh on Route 88.  Both days are filled with delicious strawberry treats, children's activities and more.
