There are two general types of strawberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Strawberry festival held at and by a farm. They are different in what they offer, so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both. And following the festival listings are links to our easy to follow directions about making strawberry jam, freezing strawberries, strawberry pies and much more.

Community Strawberry Festivals

  • Assonet Tuesday Club of  Assonet Annual Strawberry Festival - mid-June  Sunday from 11 Am until 4 Pm Rain or Shine! JUNE 19, 2022 AT THE BANDSTAND!

  • Bedford First Church of Christ, Congregational Annual Strawberry Festival - Thursday,  typically in mid-June from 6 pm to 8 pm - see their website; they don't update until late May or June

A delicious welcome to spring, the First Church of Christ Strawberry Festival takes place on a Thursday evening in June each year at 25 Great Road, Bedford, from 6 pm to 8 pm in the church yard. A tradition for over 60 years, this event, held rain or shine, offers fresh homemade strawberry shortcake, featuring fresh baked old-time powder biscuits, real fresh strawberries, Bedford Farms vanilla ice cream, and freshly whipped cream to top it off. Ice cream sundaes with all the fixings, including homemade hot fudge or fresh strawberries, are also available. Refreshments are also available for purchase. Live entertainment has been provided in recent years, with local talent being highlighted in a acoustical setting. Seating and tables are set up outside, weather permitting, or inside, if necessary. This is an all-voluSF 2013 Threenteer church event that was started in 1950 by Reed and Doris (Mickey) Webber to raise funds for a couples club at the church. Funds now typically assist our local budget, scholarship funds, and outreach. The festival has been held every year since, and is now a Bedford tradition. There are many ways to volunteer for this event, most of which will take only an hour of your timSF 2013 Foure; from cutting berries at home, to setting tables, to serving one of the delicious toppings. Rain or shine this is an enjoyable family event you do not want to miss!
  • Bourne Historical Society Strawberry Festival at Aptucxet Museum Complex - usually late June from 11 am to 3 pm - check their website in June

Annual Strawberry Festival - Strawberry short cake made with homemade biscuits and freshly whipped cream, hot dogs, burgers, chips and drinks available also. Come have your lunch and desert by the Cape Cod Canal. Antique Model Car Show - cars on display throughout grounds at Aptucxet Trading Post Museum lawns, a must see for Antique car enthusiasts. This is a special festival and you will find something for everyone so plan to spend the afternoon with us at the Aptucxet Museum Complex. Free admittance but would love for you to buy a strawberry shortcake for $5.00.
  • Braintree Farmers Market Strawberry Festival - mid to late June
    1 JFK Memorial Dr, Braintree, Massachusetts 02184. Fresh local strawberries galore! C.N. Smith Farm will provide strawberries for the event. This year our Strawberry Shortcakes will be created by LollyCake Ladies-we're thrilled! Many of our vendors will be creating products that use local, in-season strawberries. Tables & chairs will be provided under our Events Tent. Fresh picked, fragrant and juicy local strawberries will be available for purchase to take home as well. They also have a Clam & Lobster Feast in August and a Thanksgiving Market in November.

  • First Congregational Church of Milton Strawberry Festival - Saturday, mid June from 10 am to 2 pm
    Town Green and Church Lawn, 495 Canton Ave, Milton, MA 02186. Phone: 617-696-8517. Cost: Free. Join us and enjoy family-friendly fellowship with games and events on our lawn and the Town Green. Parking and admission are free. Free activities for the kids include: dancing and games, face painting, balloon figures, and an Enchanted forest with stories read by Fairies. Plenty of strawberries for purchase, as well as home-baked goods, BBQ and more. Browse homemade crafts and silent auction items, or relax on a hayride. The Teddy Bear Clinic will also be open.   • Milton's First Congregational Church Annual Strawberry Festival - Typically held on a Saturday in mid-June from 10 am to 2 pm

  • St. Barnabas Church Strawberry Festival - Saturday, in late June from 9:30 am to 3 pm

Indulge in a delicious bowl of strawberry shortcake with fresh whipped cream, lobster rolls, BBQ chicken and hot dogs.   • Topsfield Historical Society's Strawberry Festival - Saturday, in early June (check their website for this year's dates) from 10 am to 4 pm
    Topsfield Town Common, Topsfield, MA. Phone: 617-615-9433. Email: strawberryfestival@topsfieldhistory.org. The  annual Strawberry Festival on the Common has crafters specially chosen for their unique and high quality offerings occupy tents at one end of the Common, and a large number of community groups have booths for informational and fund-raising purposes.  Among the regular features are the Friends of the Library Book Sale and the Masco Soccer Team's games with prizes for children.   Hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, cold drinks are available.  The featured treat is the Historical Society's home made strawberry shortcake in the Emerson Center Hall.  Get your shortcake tickets early because they are in great demand!  2018 is the 50th Annual Strawberry Festival. Bowls and bowls of fresh strawberries, whipped cream and piles of shortcakes are prepared and served by our volunteer members. There will be Food & Music, Children's Games, Capen House Tours, Over 60 Fine Artisans!, Art - Glass - Pottery, Jewelry - Clothing, Woodwork - Specialty Items, Have a question?   • Unitarian Church Annual Strawberry Festival - Saturday, mid-June, from  10 am to 3 pm
    13 Maple Street, Mendon, Massachusetts.  Email: admin@ucmu.org. Held annually since the late 70's.  Homemade strawberry short cake by the ladies of the church is offered along with Italian sausage sandwich, burgers and hot dogs at the Lions food booth. This event once again coincides with Mendon's town wide yard sale. There will be several select vendors as well yard sale tables on the lawn of the church. There is vendor space available and we invite any of our town' nonprofit organizations to join us with free table space. Please contact Diane Oliver Harper at 508-864-4460. The Mendon Lions, through the generous donation of a Mendon family, has acquired a sight-testing machine. It is referred to as the spot machine. This machine can test, within seconds, the sight of our very young children to our senior adults and indicate if a follow up eye exam is recommended.
