PickYourOwn.org
Where you can find a pick-your-own farm near you!

Click here to add this page to your favorites list! - Updated daily!
This month's notes: December 2008: There's still lots to do at the farm.  Many farms have hayrides, winter events, Christmas trees and fresh local produce! Canning books and equipment like canners make great Christmas gifts: see this page! It's time to make homemade cranberry sauce (even jellied), pumpkin pies, soup, cheesecake and pumpkin bread. At many Christmas tree farms, there's lots to do in addition to getting a fresh tree! Organic farms are still not common, but any that are, have the word ORGANIC by their name! Check out my easy canning instructions/recipes, canning equipment guide - and if you have tomatoes coming out your ears, see the tomatoes canning page! Also make your own ice cream - see How to make ice cream and ice cream making equipment and manuals
Please tell the farms you found them here - and ask them to update their information!!!

Add a Farm in the U.S. to PickYourOwn.org

(and also www.PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org and www.PumpkinPatchesAndMore.org )

Are you looking to get your farm noticed by millions of likely customers? Post your information here for free and we will add it to our "pick-your-own" web sites.  Our web sites are free to both farmers and consumers, and this, along with the local, national and international scope, ensures that your farm's listing will be seen by consumers in your area!

Add your farm: This form (below) enters your farm into PickYourOwn.org, PickYourOwnChristmasTree.org and PumpkinPatchesAndMore.org, as appropriate.

Correct, Update or Revise your listing - if the changes are substantial, use the form below.  If you have only one or two minor changes (like a phone number), just write me via the feedback form

Delete your entry by writing me via the feedback form.

Important Notes:

Just enter the information requested below. The text boxes are generally limited to 200 characters. The Blue Boxes are required, the yellow are optional, but where applicable, the optional information definitely helps customers to come visit your farm, Please be brief, but descriptive - we reserve the right to edit to remove profanity, verbosity, or a lot of hype! :-)!

Hype - If you want  to add several paragraphs of colorful descriptive text about what makes your farm a special visit, that's great, but that's called advertising, which we do, too, for a small annual fee, not a free basic listing (remember, all the extra text ends up costing us, and if I let everyone do that, I couldn't keep it free).

Links - I will include links to your website if you enter them where the form asks for links! The Google ads on the banners I put on the external links are what pays for the site, and grows commensurate with the traffic, so again, that keeps it free for both farmers and consumers, which helps everyone!

Capital letters - Please do not type in all CAPITAL LETTERS!  (It takes me forever to change it to normal, legible type; which must be done manually, because NO ONE WANTS TO READ TYPE LIKE THIS - and that will considerably slow down getting your listing up! Thanks! )

Future plans - I'm in the process of adding databases, which will enable you to log on and make changes more easily and allow much more powerful searches, by fruit, vegetable, area, etc.  It should make the website easier for you and for the customers, plus easier to navigate!  This should be ready by this winter.
