We were told about the inability for Windy Hill to sell cider, but the person was very pleasant about it. We purchased our u-pick bags and had a great time picking in the orchard. We feed and watched the chickens and rooster. Then we all had a great time petting the pig with her new born piglets and watching a funny goat. It is not a fancy place, but we had a great time. The apples were great as applesauce too.
A visitor writes on October 17, 2009: "Hi! My husband and I took our one year old to the Windy Hill Orchard and cider Mill in York County, SC. We were looking forward to all of the wonderful things to do there based on the description on your website. When we got there we were extremely disappointed. The woman behind the counter was rude and unfriendly. They had no pumpkins, cider, or doughnuts. In fact, she said that they could no longer sell them because of a "court order". They did have bags of apples, which we purchased. I was looking forward to a day of fun and we were literally there for no more than 5 minutes. I would recommend removing them from your website. Amanda"

A visitor writes "Produce is picked and taken to the stand daily for people to purchase. Very fresh. A wonderful cafe and ice cream parlor is located across road from market. They grow over 800 acres of peaches, 80 acres of strawberries and then those 80 acres are then replanted with cantaloupes. I have purchased peaches from the farm long before it had the nice road side market it now has. Even then, as now, it is a very friendly place where you purchase extremely good produce. The produce is tree or vine ripe so you must remember that and not let it stay in your car in the heat. They also carry the baskets of berries or peaches to your car for you. Be sure to stop at the cafe for breakfast or lunch and try some of their homemade ice creams."  (ADDED: July 15, 2008)
