Anyone know more about this one? If so, write me! I received this email but they had few details:

  • U-Pick Berries (??)- About 5 min off the 5 FWY, 60 to 90 minutes south of Portland, we only knew about them because of a tiny sign on the highway. In my recollection, they were West of the 5, on a road parallel to it a mile or two north of the exit, on the West side of the road. They offered PYO Raspberries and Blackberries, but could have had other things. We last visited in June, 2003, at which time they were picked clean of Raspberries and nearly so for the Blackberries. We filled the flat box they provided for about $12 within 30 minutes, and the fruit was so wonderful we've been talking about it ever since. Wish I knew more, but maybe this is enough for you to go on!!
. I believe they were cash only. A visitor writes on April 25, 2009: "It was rustic and farm-like. They clearly knew how to raise wonderful fruit." (Suggested by a visitor, ADDED: April 25, 2009)

Home Canning Kits

This is the same type of  standard canner that my grandmother used to make everything from applesauce to jams and jellies to tomato and spaghetti sauce. This complete kit includes everything you need and lasts for years: the canner, jar rack, jar grabber tongs, lid lifting wand, a plastic funnel, labels, bubble freer, and the bible of canning, the Ball Blue Book. It's much cheaper than buying the items separately. You'll never need anything else except jars & lids!
