Crop availability: Strawberries: December through March; Blueberries: April, May & June; Muscadines and Scuppernongs: August and September. The nursery produces thousands of plants each year for commercial and hobbyist growers alike. But the true charm is the 101 American breed laying hens that range freely among the vineyard canopy the supply the country store with the fresh eggs. Blueberries in May and June! .   Comments from a visitor on July 02, 2016: strawberries and blueberries also sell fresh eggs and is an awesome winery. i believe it is run by all women. has a fun gift shop with wine tastings, restrooms and places to drink the fresh strawberries shakes they sell!

 

Types of Grapes

There are  several; types of grapes:

• Muscadines and Scuppernongs, Large, very sweet southern grapes with large seeds. Excellent for desserts and sweet dessert wines.

Grape picking tips

• Pick ripe: Grapes do not ripen after they are picked
• Appearance: Look for heavy, firm grapes
• To harvest grapes, carefully cut the grape clusters from the vine using pruning shears. Be careful not to bruise or damage the fruit or the surrounding vines.
