Blueberries typically ripen from June to August in the Pennsylvania. June dominates as the month for blueberry production (and festivals) Unlike strawberries, which grow almost anywhere, blueberries are grown commercially in half as many states.

There are two general types of blueberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Blueberry festival held at and by a farm. They are different in what they offer, and community festivals tend to be less expensive so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both.)

Community Blueberry Festivals

• Black Moshannon State Park Blueberry Bash - one Friday or Saturday in early July from 10 am to 1 pm

At 10 am, meet at Boat Launch #3 on West Side Road to find areas of the park to pick blueberries. Bring your own blueberry recipes to share! Black Moshannon State Park. Blueberry Picking-Enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk to pick blueberries and learn some Leave No Trace tips. • Ellenville Blueberry Festival - Saturday in mid-August (August 13, 2022)

  NO DOGS / PETS / ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED at The Blueberry Festival from 6 am to 6 pm. It is always hot and crowded for the pets and the people. (Except service animals). This applies to Vendors and Festival Attendees.

• Montrose Blueberry Festival - Held on the first Friday and Saturday in August.

Phone:570-278-1881The annual Susquehanna County Library Blueberry Festival is two days of summer fun for all ages! 9 am to 4pm (pancake breakfast starts at 8am). The Festival brings thousands of people to scenic Montrose PA to enjoy blueberry everything, from ice cream to pies. Proceeds benefit the Susquehanna County Historical Society & Free Library Association. There are parades, 5k runs, cornhole tournament, flea Markets and Craft Shows, arts & crafts , Over one-hundred vendors showcasing flea market finds such as books, toys, antiques, collectibles, clothing, pet supplies, household items and furniture. Plus, dozens of your favorite crafters featuring candles, body lotions, honey, homemade items, yard-art, and more! We've even got your favorite home-based sellers such as Lularoe, Avon, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Thirty-One, Scentsy, and Origami Owl. So don't miss our Marketplace, it's a festival all on its own!  Traditional Blueberry Pancake Breakfast  served both Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the cafeteria connecting Kuehn-Haven Middle School and Hill-McCloy High School. The delightful, all-you-can-eat breakfast features those heavenly blueberry pancakes hot off the grill, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. Breakfast prices are only $8 per person, and as always, children under 5 eat for free. Blueberry Pies, Baked Goods and Souvenirs: Visit the Blueberry Pie fundraiser on your way out of the pancake breakfast. Pick up a fresh baked blueberry pie or other blueberry baked goods and help our volunteers raise money for school groups. Or head over to the Entertainment Tent/Marketplace area where you will find our Blueberry Store filled with all your favorite Blueberry baked goods, 2022 T-Shirts, previous year Car Show and Road Race T-shirts, and other Blueberry festival souvenirs.
• Paxtonville United Methodist Church Blueberry Festival and 5K Run - Saturday, early July UPDATE for 2022, Hasn't been held the past 3 or 4 years and there is no update for 2022 on their website about it, as of May 2022 - call them, email them or keep checking their website

All funds raised at the Festival are used to operate the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association, which includes library locations in Forest City, Hallstead-Great Bend, Montrose and Susquehanna; an Outreach Services department; the county museum; and a genealogical research center. • Watsontown United Methodist Church Annual Blueberry Festival - 7 years now, held on the Saturday following the 4th of July, from 9 am to 3 pm UPDATE for 2022, There is nothing on their website about it, as of early May 2022 - call them, email them or keep checking their website

The festival will be home to over 30 confirmed vendors with booths in the church's multipurpose room and outside on the church grounds. These vendors range from food products, to jewelry, to handmade cards, and others! Blueberries, of course, are the treat of the day. Breakfast, featuring Blueberry Pancakes, will be served all day. Other treats include blueberry pies and ice cream with blueberry topping. A full menu will be available as the event time draws nearer. DSC_0028By wandering outside, children are welcomed to an activity zone. Penny the Pony returns for pony rides. Kids can take a spin on a barrel train. Other games of skill and chance (a toilet paper toss, giant tic-tac-toe, splash-the-pastor, bottle ring toss) will provide fun for all.

• Berryfields Farm Blueberry Festival - August, Saturday 10 am to 6 pm, Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm UPDATE for 2022, It looks like 2018 was the last time they held it, there's no way of knowing if it will return,
  Berryfields Farm Blueberry Festival. Celebrate an abundance of delicious wild and hybrid blueberries. Activities include blueberry picking, blueberry eating, blueberry baking, tractor wagon rides and children's contests. Festival activities include: Music Fest on Saturday with free tractor tram rides to the berry field or horse drawn wagon or buggy rides at an additional cost. Blueberry food...baked goods, ice cream, jams, salsa, mustard, BBQ sauce, chilly, and much more . Blueberry crafts...pottery, woodworking, jewelry, natural wreaths, baskets, and much more. You can pick your own healthy blueberries from acres of bushes. The blueberry pie eating contest is the highlight of the day! Pick Your Own will be opening at 8 am. Held at the Linvilla Orchards Entertainment Garden. They will have a Rain Date if needed. Bring your whole family for a Fun-filled day! Featuring our famous blueberry pie eating contest! Linvilla Orchards' Annual Blueberry Festival takes place annually in early July while the local blueberry season is in full swing. You can pick your own healthy blueberries from acres of bushes. The blueberry pie eating contest is the highlight of the day! Pick Your Own will be opening at 8 am. Entertainment, Costumed Characters. Summertime Sampling with Judi: Linvilla's Own Judi loves to cook for her family and, lucky for us, she also enjoys sharing her recipes and expertise with everyone she meets. Judi will be hanging out in front of our Farm Market preparing some of her favorite Summertime specialties. She will give pointers to anyone who stops by on how to use all of your freshly picked fruits and veggies! Pie Eating Contest, Even if you do not wish to stick your face in some of Linvilla's Own Blueberry Pies, it is definitely a sight to see! Roasty Toasty - What is a festival without the beloved Roasty Toasty? He will be here from 11am to 4pm making those delicious ears of corn that we have grown to love!
• Paulus Orchards Blueberry Festival - Saturday in mid-July from 7 am, Pancake Breakfast (served until 10:30am)

  The Blueberry Festival benefits the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Harrisburg. Directions: Take Route 15 to the Mechanicsburg/Bowmansdale exit. Go towards Bowmansdale. Go straight for 3.2 miles (do not follow route 114 signs). Turn left onto E. Mt. Airy Road Drive a mile and a half to orchard. It will be on your right. Very close to Ski Roundtop.
